All this could have been solved years ago if someone just asked the parents, courts, government, and everyone involved one question...

I don't think anyone would say yes, and if they did, they shouldn't be parents, judges or government, because that's insane.

IMO It should be the spouse - not the parents who make the decision (in cases of no living will). They are the ones that know the person - better then the parents.
